Summary:

The family who donated Pepper, Twilight Ginger and Jackie had financial emergencies that made it impossible for them to continue to care for these three. Unlike many horse owners, they didn't wait until there was no feed left in the barn and the horses were emaciated before asking for help. They contacted us as soon as they knew they would not be able to care for their 3 properly throughout the winter, and donated not only the horses but feed, hay and tack to help us to care for them.

Twilight is turning 6 in 2008, and the mother of the 2-year old gelding, Pepper. She arrived fit, a bit overweight, and in very good health. Her former owner describes her as a very quiet, easy to ride trail horse, and we're looking forward to weather and conditions allowing us to get a few rides with Twilight, then starting to work on finding her a forever home. "Ginger I was told was used for pleasure riding and driving though I only used for riding."

Twilight met her new forever mom in mid February. Kelly, like most of CWER's adopters, rode all through high school and into college, but then parenthood and life got in the way for a while. She is now returning to horse ownership, and partnering with Twilight to do so. They have connected together fabulously, and its amazing to see how Twilight settles in Kelly's company. CONGRATS, Kelly and, most of all, Congrats TWILIGHT!

History:

Intake Notes: Twilight arrived a bit overweight but healthy, current on all her shots and coggins, and ready to ride. She's a bit barn sour but more attached to Jackie than any other problems seen so far. As weather allows, we hope to get some nice rides on her and start looking for the perfect forever home for this broad chested, magnificent looking mare.

Kelly came and met Twilight in mid February, and the two of them connected immediately. AnnMarie rode Twilight for Kelly, and Kelly was even more interested in this beautiful mare. A few days later, Kelly was back to ride Twilight for herself and, immediately, to complete an adoption application for her new partner. Twilight rides exceptionally well under Kelly's confident and patient hand, and the 2 of them make an excellent team.

On February 24, 2008, Twilight went to her boarding barn with her new mom. She had a great ride at her new place, settled in well, and seemed calm, relaxed, and happy. CONGRATS TWILIGHT!

Later in 2008 she was joined by her new sister, Mia, and they are doing fabulously together!

Sponsorship: sponsor no longer needed, as Twilight is home!
