Across the rainbow bridge: Cheveyo: On June 11, 2008, Cheveyo was rushed to U of I for an extreme bout of colic. Attempts at colic surgery found massive lesions and tumors in his abdomen which must have caused him unbelievable pain. He was allowed to remain at rest, and his suffering is finally over. This galant young man gave us his all at every turn, and none who ever met him will forget. GrayC: On January 26, 2006, we had to put a horse to rest for the first time. GrayC was a darling Arabian mare who tragically had a compound break of a hind leg and was humanely euthanized when the vets confirmed there was nothing they can do. We will never forget you, GrayC. Hagrid and Diego: Rest in peace, dear sweet old friends. These two gentlemen were lucky enough to have several years in the kindest, most loving of adoptive homes, when Mother Nature finally insisted it was Diego's time, and Hagrid (also elderly, in ill health, and terribly attached to his dear friend) was lovingly allowed to cross the rainbow bridge with him. Rocky, a 20+ year old mini/pony mare, passed away recently, peacefully and restfully at home with her loving family. Children all over the Champaign area will miss you, darling Rockers.
